Two snippets of exciting news this week, firstly we were lucky enough to cook up some of our corn from the garden yesterday… and it was perfect! With all the heat and then the rain our garden isn't doing so fantastic of late.
Secondly there are only two more sleeps left for orders and postage. The shop will be closed for a week while we are on holidays. You are welcome to order as usual but parcels wont be sent until the 13th February.
This sweet Tea Dress is available in store now.
Wild Things is going back to handmade only in 2012 and because I am returning to uni to finish my degree the shop needs a dramatic downsize… so here is the $5 SALE. Pieces will be advertised each day on facebook and in the sale section of the store.
Keep to date with sale info by joining my face book page OR check out the SALE department in store at www.wildthingsofnoosa.com.au
How perfect are these fabrics for summer on the coast!
Etsy has a few different styles of cotton prints by Alexander Henry, I’ve just purchased these to make cushion covers for outside. They would look great made into tote bags, table cloths, serviettes or curtains for summer and the Christmas season.
I have just discovered Schmooks and am absolutely in love. This week I have been looking for girls decor on Etsy and have found the most amazing things. I have made my first treasury from my Etsy wish list. I am just deciding which Schmooks prints to buy, all are so beautiful, imaginative and fun.
My niece and I celebrated our 40th birthdays with a girls trip to Fiji and then a 70’s party back here in Noosa. We decided on a 70’s / disco theme and hired a fantastic band named Psychedelia. They played all the old favourites from the 60’s and 70’s and were totally far out! We danced our platforms off and had a great time.
It was way too much fun inviting all our guests to wear something from the 70’s, as you can see the afro was definitely a favourite, if you are looking for costumes I found my Twister dress and board game head piece at www.costumebox.com.au and it was posted super fast too.
Our party was in the private function room at the bowls club, most of us played barefoot bowls early in the afternoon before the dancing started. I have never played bowls before, OMG it was soooo hard to roll that bloomin’ ball in the right direction!
We had 70’s lollies on the tables like the choo choo bars and coconut ice. The fads or as some might know as the old fags from the 70’s were a huge hit with party goers and there was many a photo taken posing with fags. Not that I endorse smoking, it stinks! but we did have some fun reliving the ‘ol days of 1 and 2 cent lollies at the corner shop.
All our friends and family went to so much effort to travel and organize fantastic costumes, THANK YOU SO MUCH! we’ll do it again in another 10 years…
bula !
I’ve just returned from Fiji where my girlfriends and I spent 5 days. We stayed in the Malolo group of Islands at the Musket Cove Resort. The beauty of this spot is we could enjoy the other two resorts and what they had to offer as well. We had massages and snorkelling trips, long walks and swimming. We spent time riding our bikes off the beaten track, we even found the dump! The Polynesian dancers were just gorgeous and the Indian curry's perfect. The Fijian people are accommodating, friendly and beautiful, such a peaceful way of life unlike the hustle and demands of life here. Oh and did I mention the cocktails at lunch…
If you’ve never been, you should…
but I have had fun learning this…
the new year will bring a few changes to the wild things online store, I am going back to finish my uni degree and between all my new commitments and family my online store is down sizing to make it more manageable. I’ve decided to return my focus on my uni degree I started some years ago BC (before children).
I am keeping all the handmade goodness and you will still be able to buy the wild things label on etsy, madeit and at Mathildas Market in Brisbane.
Tomorrow there will be overseas labels listed for sale in store, most of it will be summer stock from the previous season that needs to be cleared out for the new spring / summer.
Sale starts tomorrow www.wildthingsofnoosa.com.au
